Build a FREE Flickr picture viewer for your website.

Sure you can pay a designer to create a dynamic flash animation. But wouldn’t you like to save yourself the time and money? Here is a simple H2O Studios approved method to bring image content to your site within your own parameters. This method was developed by Diego Bauducco, Carlos Gomez, and Maya Gorton.

Follow these few simple steps to create your own web gallery. Your gallery can be any size and use any size photos. You can use captions, groups, and play slide shows. This could be used to portray your business events, wedding photos, holiday parties, or pretty much anything you like.


Follow these steps

Step1


Go to the following Website http://www.flickr.com/

You sign up to use Flckr by creating an account with yahoo.
(don't worry, it doesn't cost anything!!).

You may already have a Yahoo ID. If so, you simply just login by clicking the sign in button in the upper right hand corner.

Step2


If you don't have a Yahoo ID you start by clicking the button entitled "sign up for yahoo" in the upper right hand corner.

Step3


Now that you have confirmed your Yahoo ID you can sign into Flickr.

Step4


You will be prompted to enter a screen name. This is important because this is how your pictures will be accessed. So when you choose a name, write it down.

Step5


Now that you are inside your Flickr account you can start uploading photos by clicking the option that says,
"Upload Your First Photos "

When you do this you will have the option to make you pictures private. They MUST REMAIN PUBLIC in order for this to work.

Step6


Now that you have uploaded your pictures. Group your pictures into a "SET". A "SET" is a way a grouping your photos into dates, events, or any category. You can also set up titles and descriptions for your pictures which you can choose to have displayed.

Step7


Go to www.PictoBrowser.com and Click on "PictoBuilder" in the upper right hand corner. Then type your Flickr screen name from step 4 in the input box.

Step8


Once you select what you want to be shown in your picture viewer you can set up how you would like you picture viewer to look. You can toggle with all the settings check out what they do. The background colors work on a hexadecimal system. To view some Hexadecimal options clickHERE.

Step9


Notice in step 8's picture that there is a tab in the upper right corner thats says "get html code". Click the tab and copy the code that has been generated.

Step10


Now paste your code in your websites source code, or on your blog, or myspace. Here is an example of what your viewer can look like.
